Footprints in the Sand 2
Footprints in the Sand is a small group of photographs that talk about our imprint on the ocean and the beaches. The beach is a safe haven for me and I want to protect the beaches so other people later on can have the same experiences as me. I hope that these photographs help people see how easily the land is influenced by our imprint on the environment.
Magnificent Moth
This is a moth on a flower that I saw while on a hike. It was taken using a macro reverse ring.
The Transformation of Jesus
Contrary to what you might see in a Western church or an art gallery, Jesus was not white. He was a brown-skinned, Middle Eastern Jew. In our society, its clear representation and diversity matter very much and can be very powerful tools to help others. This applies for media, much more a prophet. Portraying Jesus as he truly looked, might help subside the anti-Semitic, and xenophobic views some alleged Christians have. Continuing to imagine Jesus as white, when he was undeniably not, is by definition, racist, as it promotes the notion that a particular race is superior to another.
Self Portrait
This is a self portrait from a selfie I took while on a walk with a friend before the pandemic. It represents a moment where I felt very happy, and brings back good memories.
Dragon Piece
I made a painting using acrylic paint to make a dragon and I also used silver leaf as the dragons scales.
Childish Gambino
Childish Gambino is a charcoal portrait I did of the artist Childish Gambino/Donald Glover.
Donuts
Oil Pastel Donuts: I’m proud of this drawing because it was the first time using oil pastels and drawing food.
Water color: I’m proud of this drawing because it’s one of my original characters I made this year. At first it was drawn in makers and I decided to redraw it again in water colors.
Stippling Project
This project was finished on September 18 and the materials I used were a toned piece and a black flair felt tip pen.
Dream Machine
Watercolor painting of a 1984 911 Carrera in rubystone red. One of 3 in the world, this rare and gorgeous pink made it stand out to say the least. I was inspired by Paul Howse's watercolor artworks.
Self Portrait "Coraline Doll"
I created this self portrait doll inspired by the one in the movie Coraline. I made a wire armature for the doll's body and sculpted the features out of air-drying clay. The hair is yarn, which I attached one-by-one using a few different colors. I designed and sewed the doll's dress and made her necklace, too.
