This piece is from a project that I did in my creative writing class that required me to use the words Goat, Broken Stained Glass, and Drawbridge.

“Tell your own story, because if you don’t, someone else will do it for you. And they WILL tell it wrong.” I thought about this phrase for a while, and then decided to write about my take on it, connecting it to real life as well.

Following Dickinson’s exceptional format, I created my poem about the notion of happiness. Happiness can be complex, but at its core, it is a simple value. It is that simplicity that I tried to capture and portray in my poem.

The Last Thread is a microfiction story that I wrote in my Creative Writing class. Our project required us to use a chosen word and action, and keep it within one hundred words.

Poetry isn't something to be forced. I've found that it's easiest to use the emotions and events at hand to then describe the combination.

"i have been red" is about that kind of anger you just can't shake, the kind that doesn't come out when you shower off the day. It stays with you, it stains your mind and everything you touch.

Blame It on the Universe is a personal poem that talks about how easy it is to blaming your flaws on astrology instead of actually trying to change them.

When I wrote this, it was around Halloween.

“9/1101” is a dramatic tear-jerking poem I wrote last year for a creative writing assignment.

This is a juveinalian satire story that attacks the contribution of social media to serious issues like sex trafficking. The context of the story addresses how easy it is to deceive others from behind a screen. There is an extreme juxtaposition between the reality and the created fantasy through social media.

Life is simply a dance. Maybe not a ballet piece, but more of a Jazz or contemporary. We all dance for some odd reason-whether we like to or not. We all put on a performance when we don't need to. So even though I stopped twirling on stage, I still find myself twirling at home, at school, or even when I'm writing- trying to find answers to some of my biggest questions about humanity.
