  This story captures the essence of my grandparents' immigrant experience and reminds us of how freedom should not be taken for granted and does not come without difficulties. This non-fiction piece is based on information I was told by them throughout the years while growing up. It is dedicated to their bravery and my gratitude for their sacrifice.
