• Artist Statement

  My piece of writing explores my complex relationship with diving–a sport that fills me with exhilaration and passion yet fear and anxiety at the same time. As a competitive diver, I feel burdened by the pressure to perform my best which can be overwhelming.

• Creative Statement

  Writing is a way to let go of anything I am encumbered by and turn all of the ugliness, fear, or confusion I am experiencing into something beautiful and tangible. I am able to understand my feelings, and through writing, I allow myself to feel them without self-judgment.
