• Artist Statement

  The Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) was one of the greatest in Imperial Chinese history. It was a golden age of reform and cultural advancement. The Tri-color Figurines are one of its signature art forms. This dance features a figurine who comes alive to experience life in Chang’An, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, and returns back to figurine form after her adventure. The audience can imagine the splendid city, lavish living style, and the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty as if they were transported to Chang’An.

• Creative Statement

  It motivates me to learn new things. It also helps me to reduce my stress and anxiety, to build up my confidence, and to allow me to express myself in a way I like.
