I composed this piece as an homage to one of my favorite modern composers, Frank Zappa and his compositions the Black Page #1 and 2. I utilized many of the same techniques as Zappa did including complicated tuplet rhythms, orchestral instruments along with traditional rock instruments, and his trademark sus2 chords. The instrumentation was recorded by hand through different patches on my JUNO DS keyboard fed into my DAW. I transcribed the music myself using MuseScore notation software.
