In this image, black and white is used to solidify the theme of contrast. The human, the figure on the left, has nothing but their heart. It is one thing that humans pride themselves on; empathy, emotions, but all else is missing. They have no eyes and no lungs. The robot, the figure on the right, has no heart, but is made up of many different pieces. They are, in fact, the sum of their parts.

Painting and drawings help me to express and explore areas of myself that I am unable to in other aspects of my life. Using my abilities to create something, to put something into the world, physically, helps me to focus and relax.
