My artwork is expressed mostly through rapping. There are multiple things that go into my artistic process. A big part of writing, to me personally, is actually feeling the music and the mood it gives out. When writing rhymes, I like to think of what I’m trying to express before displaying it in rap form. In addition, I often ask for help and constructive criticism from those who are more experienced in music, like my group members, my family, and friends. I appreciate other perspectives on how my raps sound and how I can improve. As an example, I utilized feedback on my song “Games”. I had the opportunity to work with Lateef of the group Blackalicious. He gave me pointers on developing my flow and cadence. I also received assistance from Mr. Tommy and T3Po from my group. They gave me suggestions that helped me formulate my lyricism and rhymes. All of these examples assist my artistic process. I feel very fortunate to have so many resources and support.

Creativity adds another level to everything I do on a day to day basis. Exploring and expressing my creativity impacts my life by allowing me to bring more interest to and from my environment. It also allows for my verbal and musical expression to be more meaningful.
