• Artist Statement

  This photo was taken on a trip to Rodeo Beach. I was so excited to have the day off from school and relax with my friends, but when we got there we realized it was absolutely freezing. We were so disappointed, but ended up making the most out of the day. This photo was taken of the only surfer there - the only one willing to brave the cold. This photo will always remind me of how having fun is a choice.

• Creative Statement

  The role creativity plays in my life is one of escapism. Whether it's painting, figure drawing, writing, or photography, expressing creativity temporarily wipes away the outside world and my worries. I am constantly seeking out opportunities to expand on what I know.
