(Not) For Sale is a haunted comedy about what happens when a disgruntled teenage ghost decides that she'll do anything in her power to protect the house she died in, and how her hauntings have affected the poor real estate agent tasked with selling the property. When a millennial couple discovers the house, the real estate agent now has to simultaneously sell it and try to shield the couple from the ghost's attempts to scare them off. This script combines elements of heart with classic horror tropes and humor to both make you laugh and feel for the characters.
This script has been in the works for at least 7 months and started out as just an idea I had over the summer. I've worked on it consistently from when it was a scribbled note in my journal to where it is now, and I'm incredibly proud of how much it's grown through feedback and rewriting. It was an exercise in how to create lovable characters in such a short script, and how to make something unexpected out of tropes that everyone knows and loves. Over these 7 months, I've developed a love for these characters that I've never felt with any of my other pieces, and I hope that the readers will feel that as well.

When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time watching TV and movies. When I joined the Creative Writing program at Novato High, I fell in love with screenwriting. It allows me to tell stories, and make people laugh and experience new emotions, and I love it more than anything else in the world.
