• Artist Statement

  This specific collection of poetry, titled "of fathers & fire," aims to chronicle some of my experiences as a child of two Vietnamese immigrant parents. Some aspects of the collection pull from other Vietnamese-American youth I've talked to or read about. I've written these pieces over a few months, and I hope they serve as a window or a mirror to readers.

• Creative Statement

  Expressing myself through creative means, whether poetry or art, allows me to recontextualize my experiences in ways that also challenge my artistic skills. It is both advocacy and catharsis, and it allows me to transcend cultural and social boundaries when sharing my art with others.
