Post-Modern Brain Noise

This piece was inspired by the philosophy of post-modernism. The idea is that everything around us is a social construct. I realized I didn't have to do everything with in reason or in the convention. My movements didn't have to be perfect or clean, I just had to enjoy doing them. I reflected on what I wanted and what musicality I wanted to play towards.
In this piece I exemplify how the music is a part of me. The music, although odd and not traditional, moves me and becomes an extension of my being. I play with sharp and soft movement qualities through out the dance to show the range of mood and spirit. I also explore more space in the dance as the music gets a firmer grasp on me.

Dance helps me breathe and express my creative spirit. I cultivate my creative spirit through dance because it keeps me in touch with my own body. Learning the fluid movement of my limbs through space and time gives me a deeper connection to myself and the world around me.
