My poetry, is raw and uncut. A lot of times poetry wakes me out of my sleep and I can’t help but write whatever it tells me. I am just a vessel, poetry drives me. I have no set process but when I get stuck, I have a whole file of poetic lines that I’ve came up with over time and I use it to either start or finish a poem. My art work to me very well could be the voice of a generation, my work has range and it reaches many different walks of life through my experience. Sometime I even feel called to write about experiences that aren’t my own. Poetry, is life it self personified as the boogie man of truths that you don’t want to hear. He is a chef, he makes palatable truths and moral dilemmas that the rest of the world chooses to be blind to and with his creation he forces their eyes open. My art work embodies that.

To me, a poets job is to give other people the right words to say through their experiences. Poets are like chefs, we take this ugly world and make it palatable. We beautify it through our work and though it doesn’t change what it is, it makes people more willing to see it. Poetry is salvation to me.
