When I first heard about the CYA about a week ago, I was originally determined to create something eye-catching and vibrant- something incredibly creative that would impress.

Inspired by portrait artist Tahlia Stanton, I decided to paint a series of surreal self-portraits.

I was born and raised in India and moved to the US at the age of ten.

I took the picture that gave me the inspiration for this piece while hiking up Pleasanton Ridge one morning, a day after heavy rains.

My art piece is shows the impact of pollution in the ocean that can endanger the wildlife and ecosystem of the oceans.

This piece is titled "Wallflower" and is made with magazine clippings and marker.

I was looking at some ideas and decided to try something new with my lineart and coloring.

In my multimedia class, We were challenged to make traditional Native American in Adobe Illustrator which was the inspiration behind the piece I am submitting.

Just like these two frames, all of us are different in the sense we look different.

I spent weeks on this project and dwindled down my colored pencils to sad lumps.

Whether it be shying away from spilt food on the floor, to outwardly cringing at other people's messiness, I have always been isolated from touch and disorder.

When my family travels, we always prioritize visiting well-known (and still delicious) restaurants or cafes.

This artwork focuses on the relationship between the chaotic world and our senses and perceptions, exploring our place in the universe.
