A Peace of Silence

I wrote this poem for my 9th grade culminating project and read it at my 9th grade graduation. Generally, my artistic process involves coming up with a broad idea of what I want the piece to be like, and then I just start writing, taking inspiration from the story I’ve created. Once I’ve written my draft, I briefly edit it so that it flows together more seamlessly. I’m done when the piece provokes the feelings I’m trying to get across.

To me, creativity is the ability to access parts of your own individualism and express that through different outlets.
