As time moves forward, as I move from middle school to high-school, as I move from freshmen to sophomore, and so on and so forth, I can't help but think about graduation. Moving on from this stage of my life, going to college, and ultimately finding a career. I wonder who I'll be and what I'll do. It's all a blur and something that seems so far away yet close at the same time. While I find myself thinking about the future and the uncertainties, I also turn to the past. My stability and comfort. When looking back, I know who I was, and what I did. When walking through the hall of my memories, I'll always be looking at myself. Me from the past, who I was and who I want to be. I'm hopeful for the future, yet can't help but be afraid. I can't stand still forever, just watching and hoping for the best. But I'd love to stand and wait for just a little longer. I wanted to express that uncertainty of the future, and the comfort of the past in this painting. I portray myself looking at someone while walking through a gallery of my memories. Whether I'm looking at who I was, or who I want to be , it's uncertain. But I'm definitely looking at myself, looking at someone who shines ever so slightly brighter.

Creativity and the creation of art serves as a form of expression and representation. There are often indescribable emotions. Feelings unique and special to a character. As an artist, I want to not only express my own emotions but also those of others. I want people to feel seen.
