• Artist Statement

  This piece is inspired by an antique vase that sits in my grandmother's home. The vase originated in Okinawa and has once sat in my great-grandmother's home. It now sits in my grandmother's home. During visits to my grandmother's home, I often wonder what this vase has seen and witnessed.

• Creative Statement

  Writing in my free time helps me sort through my bustling, changing emotions as a teenager and allows me to share my unique perspective in a teenage world where unconscious blending is the norm. I hope that my writing bridges gaps with readers so that we can form connections.
