I wrote this when I was struggling with feelings of derealization and dissociation. I didn't know how or where I could express my emotions, and so I wrote this piece with the intention of keeping it hidden away. I would keep it hidden, occasionally thinking about it, and would only allow myself to re-read it whenever those feelings would come back to haunt me. Over the years, I've seem plenty of therapists and have slowly started my road to recovery, and as I read this piece again, I no longer feel scared or lost anymore. I feel proud for how far I've come and have come to accept that this is a part of my past. A past covered in disappointment, and heartbreak. However, it's nice knowing that I no longer carry those burdens anymore.

Creativity means being able to express feelings that may sometimes overwhelm you. To take control of your words in order to create life. Creating, and expressing your love with everything and everyone around you, with no fear. Fear of being perceived by strangers, and especially the fear repressed in ourselves.
