My artwork, ”Beauty Revealed Through Struggle” was created using colored pencils on a piece of brown paper adding to the naturalistic style of the work, conveying my theme of ambition, especially family connections/history due to the life experiences my grandma has encountered. telling her many stories through her hands. The age on her hands show the life she has lived through and the things she has done throughout her life constantly, demonstrating ambition then and now as her arthritis makes her daily life a struggle. Drawing her hands is significant as she is a very special person to me being a huge role as one of the main influencers for the development of my love for art and creativity. The art is not to achieve hyperrealism, but with this naturalistic style, shows the effects of arthritis; how it affects everyday life and normal routines.

Creativity is life for me as I love being organized and finding ways to decorate my room, create art with various mediums, and try new things. I have always enjoyed art even as a young child and want to do something using creativity in my future eventually.
