I wanted my artwork to depict the very special moment of my boyfriend, Victor, picking up my dog, Belle, for the first time. It was important to me because they both mean a lot to me and were bonding with one another. My painting celebrates this togetherness by conveying the joy that was felt in that instant through Belle and Victor’s delighted expressions and the cheerful, sunny sky in the background. To illustrate this moment, I started by sketching it, then added some initial color with watercolor pencils and went over it with watercolor paint for the final effect.

To me, being creative is having the ability to see and experience things in my day to day life and gain ideas and inspiration from it. Then I take the visualizations inside my head and convey them through many mediums of art.
