I spent a while thinking about the best medium to use for this piece before I landed on colored pencils. I used a reference photo of Chaeyoung from the girl group TWICE to help me plan my piece. I decided to use pinks for the skin instead natural skin tones to give the artwork a more vibrant look. I enjoy using bold colors for my skin tones—it makes the piece feel more like me. I also added a little yellow around the highlights to provide transition colors and a pop as I worked. Overall, I really enjoyed making this piece, and it has become one of my favorites.

Creativity means to create pieces that either have a deeper meaning or just for fun. Creativity is an outlet for me to express myself without judgement from myself or others. Creativity to me means I don’t have to follow any rules during my artistic process.
