”I’m From Lessons of Experience”

This poem was inspired by a poem titled ”Where I’m From” by George Ella Leon. In my poem, I wanted to capture who I am today from fragments throughout the complexity of my experiences developed from various aspects of my identity. I believe we grow and mature through experiences, not age; I aimed to illustrate courses of my life that have led me to where I am standing, throughout memories and hardships. Writing this felt like organizing scattered fragments of my life as if I were to explain to someone why I am who I am today not just physically but as well as emotionally.

Creativity means to create, to inspire, and to be inspired. Creativity means to express, demonstrate, and think. Creativity is the output of someone’s thoughts, feelings, ideas, and perspectives of the world. To be creative is to reveal who you are beyond what the world can see.
