• Artist Statement

  I think the stories of male victims of sexual abuse are so rarely talked about and I feel as though it’s something that should be acknowledged more often. While working on this piece I tried to focus on conveying a feeling of discomfort, focusing on the subject in the center and having his gaze toward the viewer to feel his detachment toward the situation and to unsettle the viewer as they appear as a bystander, allowing him to stay in this desperate situation.

• Creative Statement

  I think creativity is just the ability to create something yours and something unique that speaks to you, even if others don’t understand it. Anyone can and should be allowed to be and express their own creativity.
