This colored pencil sketch ”On Top of the World” displays a colorful snapshot of my twin and I on top of a slide at our childhood playground. I chose the title ”On Top of the World” to encapsulate the exhilarating experience of feeling invincible from being so high up before rushing down the slide, a memory we have all experienced in our childhood. The main colors pink and purple are used to create a sense of youthfulness and playfulness in the drawing, highlighting a precious moment of sisterhood. The bold colors contrasting with the vague background expresses that this image is a beloved memory. My goal for this artwork is to bring nostalgic memories of childhood for viewers.
