For this self portrait, I printed out a photo of myself in black and white so that I could redraw myself using different colors. I focused on using cooler colors for shadows and warmer colors for the rest of my face. This was my first time using pastels as a medium, and I found that I really liked using them. It was fun to use unrealistic colors to draw myself, and I found I could really express my creativity in this piece.

To me, creativity means transforming reality. I express my creativity through art, whether that means distorting shapes or using unrealistic colors. Creativity means expressing myself in visual form, with each of my pieces reflecting my thoughts and experiences.
