• Artist Statement

  I chose to create a quilt from my grandmother’s nightgowns, in an aim to honor her life and memory. I want to show how memory can be woven into everyday items, like a blanket, and how these items carry forward the love she had in her lifetime. By stitching together fragments of my grandmother’s nightgown, I hope to create a lasting tribute that preserves her memory.

  Creativity is self-expression through beauty. I believe creating work that speaks to a personal experience and can be understood by an audience is an important aspect of creativity.
