Wandering through the old souk (outdoor marketplace) while visiting my family in Tunis this summer, I was struck by how old it felt. Standing outside of what used to be the house of the bey (Turkish governor), I was surrounded by French and Arabic signs, a relic of colonial history.

During my dads pre-game lesson on fly fishing, I squatted on the rock below me and framed the shot, adjusting the correct exposure for my films ISO.

The process it took was I used a camera on a tripod with low shutter speed on a apartment balcony overlooking the freeway.

This piece is meant to show the beauty of human energy whilst isolated.

My inspiration for this photo was the Move 2001 space odyssey.
