• Artist Statement

  These are three separate poems that I worked on at different times to reflect on my childhood reaching an end. These works have allowed me to understand how my Uzbek ethnicity and my father's absence have impacted my life in ways I've previously overlooked.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity to me means being willing to uncover parts of yourself you don't understand. It means being able to put the indescribable into words, to capture the essence of a feeling.
