I often like to sit outside in my backyard with my camera and photograph the many birds that come and go. One of my favorite birds to see visit my backyard is the hummingbird. Hummingbirds live fast, 3-5 year lives, And their behavior reflects that. Every time I see a hummingbird, they dash quickly into my yard, and leave just as quick as they came, never stopping, just hovering to eat. But on the day I took this photo, this hummingbird decided to land on the branch just above my head, not chirping, not eating, but observing. I often think about his viewpoint, his small eyes taking in a world that he must move through so fast. In this picture I tried to capture what he was thinking, sitting on a branch, taking in a world all to big for just one small hummingbird. Sometimes I feel just like him.
