Blue Bed

The piece is ceramic. It was made out of B Mix clay, painted with blue underglaze, and glazed with clear glaze.

• Artist Statement

  This is a ceramic box shaped and carved to look like a bed. First I made the body and lid of the box using slab technique. Then, I carved the body and lid of the box to look like a bed with sheets and blankets. Once in the form of bisque ware, I painted the carvings of the box with blue underglaze and dunked it in clear glaze.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity is a way to calm the mind.
