Dear Lou

Sawyer M.

Wood, acrylic paint, colored pencils, markers

  • This artwork is in remembrance of Lou Sullivan, a trans activist who inspires me and my work. I wanted to create a piece to reflect on my own trans identity and the identities of the trans people who have made it possible for me to be here today.

  • To me, creativity is a way for everyone to be connected, whether that’s through words or painting or performance. Art is a uniting and universal experience that I think is very important to continue as a young artist.
