Desolate

  • This photograph captures the quiet tension between scale, solitude, and the night sky. I wanted to explore how a single human figure interacts with something monumental—in this case, a towering cross rising out of darkness. Shooting at night allowed the stars to become part of the composition, reminding viewers of a universe much larger than both the structure and the person beneath it. The faint light at the base was intentional; it grounds the viewer just enough to notice the silhouette without overpowering the sky.

  • Creativity is noticing what most people walk past and choosing to look closer. In photography, it helps me make sense of scale, place, and emotion. It is not about inventing something new. It is about revealing what is already there.
