Fish Fur

Clay, glaze, fur fabric

  • I want the viewers to notice the oddity of the fish skin being fur. I also want them to notice how it is placed in the places where a coat might go on a fish, giving the illusion that it was put on the fish. I got this idea from global warming's effect on sea life. The warming of the ocean has a big effect on marine life, like fish. The warm temperatures of the waters are not suitable for fish, so they must leave their habitats to cooler water, or they will get reduced oxygen, stunted growth, and in extreme heating, death. The most interesting part of contructing this peice was adding the fur. I had to find the placement I wanted, what I wanted to cover, and which color I wanted. Ive never worked with fur and that was an interesting new process for me.

  • Creativity means being able to create art without help of an outside source. It’s art coming from your own mind.
