• Artist Statement

  This piece features red silhouettes of skiers and snowboarders, accompanied by a silhouette of a snowboarder flipping through the air. I have always loved the thrill of snow sports, and I made this piece to capture the moment of flying through the air, over a beautiful landscape view. I took this photo while I was out snowboarding, but I felt the image was too still to truly represent what it's like to snowboard. I wanted to capture the feeling of speed and exhilaration, so later I added the digital art. The red abstracted outlines emphasise motion and energy, which contrast with the calm landscape. This piece also reflects the harmony between the rider and the environment, showing how snowboarding deepens my connection to nature and makes me appreciate the landscape in a more immersive, physical way.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity is about experimenting with new things and taking risks, whether it be trying a new medium or trying something and failing. It's not about being the best at any one thing, but letting your imagination follow it's own path, and expressing what matters to you.
