Growing

This piece reflects how growing up I was always put down by peers for my race, and skin tone.and people would treat me differently just because I was different. They would make jokes about me, and my race calling me sensitive and immature. I was extremely insecure about my hair and skin tone. I felt like I spent a lot of time morphing myself into something others wanted me to be. It makes me feel as if I didn't stay true to myself - I lost my voice. In addition to demonstrating my current capabilities to confidantly be myself, and know all my features make me who I am. I wanted to portray how I have grown, and I like who I have grown into, while also leaving room for the understanding I still need to grow.

To me creativity is expressing feelings, or being able to channel activism, feelings, talent, or concepts into something that has meaning to the creator. Creativity is in pretty much every aspect of life, it’s to have ideas that can help better one’s self, group, or society.
