When looking through my old elementary photos with my dad, we came across a picture of us walking into school and passing a mother-daughter duo that we immediately realized was one of my close friends and her mom. We hadn’t really become friends until junior high, and the picture seemed to be entirely out of chance, giving me the inspiration for my next piece. “Impressions” aims to encapsulate this chance meeting and the other few times we’d meet down the line before truly becoming friends. Using a museum-like environment, I wanted to present a timeline-based exhibit, with our current selves in the center. Through “Impressions”, I hoped to really showcase the art of first meetings, and how you never know what the future holds.
