This piece was created while I was experimenting with how close I could zoom while still creating a pleasing composition. Once I had the photo I first edited it in color before deciding it was better in black and white. For this piece it was very important to get the black and white correct to bring out all the detail on his face. This photo comes out of artistic experimentation, allowing the photographic process to be fun and free. The image was just taking while waiting at the bus stop on our way to his house and to me it shows how having fun with your camera can yield great results.

To me creativity means having the opportunity to express yourself in a world in which that is not always possible. Creativity means having a way of being yourself and sharing that with those around you.
