My artwork depicts a Burmese Kinnari and Kinnara, two bird-human hybrids, somewhere beyond the Himalayas and beyond human reach. During the process of creating this artwork, I was really stressed about becoming a member of society and having to do all the "right" things to succeed. So after stumbling across Kinnari and Kinnara, who stay secluded in nature with just the company of each other, it just hit and the Ipad pen just started flying across the screen. While Kinnari and Kinnara exist in other cultures, I specifically took inspiration from Burmese depictions and culture for the character design. For the art direction, I wanted to convey whimsy and a dream-like place so I tried to emulate flowing paint-like strokes for the background.
