Life as a Teenage Girl

  • I wanted to capture a moment from my everyday life as a girl, sitting at my vanity and applying makeup to my face. Whether it is getting ready for school or going out to lunch, I am constantly worried about my appearance. I stare at myself in the mirror, hoping the makeup I apply masks my imperfections and insecurities. I also wanted to share an insight into my messy desktop, as it highlights my inability to keep myself organized, as I would rather spend my time fixing my appearance for the outside world than clean the space I live in every day.

  • Creativity means being open to new ideas. I believe using your own mind and exploring new ways to understand an idea or process is being creative. I believe being creative is about making mistakes and learning from them.
