Low Tide at Bandon Beach

photograph

  • This photo was a random shot that surprisingly caught my eye. It reminds me of the protection my family gives me in every direction. No matter what comes there always there to be my shield. A place where one can think clearly and calmly with no distractions - a safe place. I brought this into existence because I want others to feel this same calm. The biggest and the strongest bolder on the right represents my father while the bolder on the left as it is smaller contains the same amount of strength which represents my mother. In the distance there is a boulder to the right which is confident, protective, and resourceful which represents my older brother. The small pillar in the center of the scene represents myself, appearing vulnerable and small as a result many difficult health challenges, reduced from being a large pillar to barely visible.

  • My photography serves as an emotional release. Through my lens, everything goes quiet. There are no distractions: just my camera and myself. My camera provides a gateway to my truest self. There's no sense of judgment at the moment.
