I took this photo while walking around the Emeryville Marina with my mom. My eye was drawn to the bright red do not enter sign, and I wanted to take a photograph that emulated the feeling of being blocked or prevented from doing something. To do this I made the plants in the foreground partially obscure the sign, blocking it, but also framing its message at the same time.
