I started off writing these two poems as an assignment for my English class, but all the poems I was reading didn't seem to reflect real life, or at least what I had experienced. So I decided to write my poems about my own life and emotions. I didn't want something about flowers or sunshine because that hasn't been what my life has been. I wanted something darker and something that felt more real and personal to me. So that’s what this is, a completely honest reflection of myself and the hardships me and the people around me have dealt with.
