I wanted to represent the places I call home as well as my ethnic origins, but also include what has been a constant theme in my art this year, which has been bones. Three of the flowers are the national flowers of my ethnic origins, Germany, Croatia, and Italy; while the apple and poppy represent Washington and California.

Creativity is an outlet for when you don’t know how to put something in words. It’s a chance to just take all the random ideas in your head and turn them into something.
