Over My Dead Body

This film was inspired by the constant guilt experienced after losing someone you love, and explores how grief and unresolved feelings can haunt those left behind. In the film, a brother dies from a drug overdose, and his sister finds him. Struggling to cope with the loss, she tries to move forward, but her unresolved emotions are personified when the memory of her brother returns while she's tutoring a peer. The film’s main message is that unresolved grief can linger, affecting daily life and relationships until it’s acknowledged and addressed. She tries to ignore his presence, yet he persists until it is too late to find closure. I made this film with three upperclassmen; it took us about three months altogether to finish it. I’m really proud of this because it was my second film ever, and I had no prior experience. Thank you for spending your time watching it!

My creativity is my life; I live and breathe it. From filmmaking, writing, music, fashion, and everything in between. Creativity brings me more joy than anything else. Without my creativity and the outlets for it, I’d be much different. Which is why it’s important to support everyone’s different creative endeavors.
