I made this plate with ceramics clay. I let my plate for a day dry a little but I still kept it covered. While it was drying out, I drew out my design I wanted on my plate. I then cut my design in small paper pieces. Before sticking the paper on it, I glazed it with white for my background. I then started to place my paper with water. I repeated the same step. (Glazing on top of the paper and keeping everything covered in a different colored glaze). I made my own glaze because I wanted a pink, orange tone. After I glazed it, it was time for it to get fired and clear coated. When everything was ready, I was amazed with my art work.

At first I didn’t know what design to go for. I decided to go with flowers. It was a long process but it was definitely worth it. It was my first time trying this surface technique. This surface technique is called paper resist.
