Rabbit Hole

  • Rabbit Hole depicts the overwhelming stress of everyday life. This sculpture has two meanings that intertwine together; The rabbits creating a hole to escape out of the brain represents the breaking point of spiraling into panicked thoughts, and the wires symbolize the stabbing physical and mental pain that each passing thought brings. I was inspired to create this piece after experiencing many stabbing headaches from my lack of sleep and overall stress. Looking around, I could tell that many of my friends, teachers, and family members were feeling overwhelmed as well, going through their busy schedules of everyday life. Mental health affects everyone, yet is frequently ignored, so my piece displays that despite its invisibility, stress is chaotic and painful. I hope my sculpture serves as a reminder to take breaks and seek help, so that the rabbits will go back into the hole.

  • Creativity means exploration and inspiration, gathering pieces from my personal experiences to curate my own collage.
