• Artist Statement

  Why is the subject hunched over like that? Is the posture out of exhaustion, meditation, transformation, or maybe even drug use? For me, the picture evokes curiosity and even wonder. The lack of a face or head pulls the viewer in, as we can't immediately tell what is happening - it makes you connect with the image deeper than if it had just been a full person.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity, to me, is the act of finding a new idea in or from something that has already existed. Some say that it is defined as making something unique; however, it also comes from a place of addition as we build and expand ideas. This is why "movements" exist.
