Silent Reflection

Ahren K.

Graphite + Charcoal + Paper

  • Growing up, I was forced to sit and "reflect silently" in a corner on my own because of how disruptive I was in class. I was constantly singled out because of my leg shaking, interruptive questions, and loudness. In other words, I had hyperactive ADHD. I wanted to create a piece that, now in high-school, allowed me to reflect on my changes and how I've grown further since my middle and elementary school days.

  • To me, creativity represents the idea of "thinking out of the box", and not the meaning of the common, overly repeated phrase, but utilizing resources such as your imagination to build.
