• Artist Statement

  These two pieces were drawn to show a sneak tilt being executed. I chose charcoal because I believe it depicts the roughness of wrestling well. Throughout the whole experience of drawing my two pieces, I learned a lot about human anatomy so that I could most effectively portray the muscles of the two wrestlers. I myself am a wrestler, so I know the positions that the bodies are in to perform the move, but accurately sketching the muscles was the challenge that I slowly but surely overcame.

  Creativity to me is how much you can create on your own using your personality without having to completely rely on a reference or standard.
