• Artist Statement

  Taken at Ocean Beach, this photo captures the model meeting the sea for the first time. The long shadows cast by the late-afternoon sun ground the scene in contrast, accentuating the joy and light surrounding them. I had been taking candids of my friends all day, but this moment stood apart. It’s the instant of unguarded awe, when the world suddenly feels bigger, brighter, and somehow better.
